Revenue Protection and your marketing

Revenue Protection guarantees revenue using the higher of the February or harvest price, which is why many farmers forward-sell up to their insured bushels.

RP's guarantee uses the projected price (February average of December corn or November beans) or the harvest price (October average), whichever is higher, times your insured yield.

If you forward-sell and then come up short in a drought, the harvest price option helps cover buying back or replacing those bushels. That's why many tie forward sales to their guaranteed bushels.

Our crop insurance page tracks the harvest price as October goes.
