Know your break-even

Your cost per bushel is the yardstick for every pricing decision; it's total cost divided by expected bushels.

Add your costs per acre (seed, fertilizer, chemicals, fuel, machinery, land, insurance, interest, labor) and divide by expected yield. That's your break-even per bushel.

With costs above prices for many crops this year, knowing that number tells you which sales cover cost and which don't.

Our break-even calculator does the math and shows today's price against it.
